Event tickets
How to create and sell event tickets, how they differ from monetary vouchers, and how to redeem them at the door.
An Event ticket is the second product type in Retiva, alongside the monetary voucher. A customer buys a ticket on the storefront, and you redeem it at the door by scanning its QR code.
Creating a ticket
- Go to Products and click New product.
- In the Type field, choose Event ticket.
- Fill in the name and description in the store’s enabled languages.
- Set the price and the validity (Entitlement duration).
- Set the Sort order and save.
Ticket vs monetary voucher
- A monetary voucher has a face value (Value) and is used to pay for any purchase — it can be sold below its value (a discount).
- A ticket is admission to a specific event — you sell and redeem it as a right of entry, not as a means of payment with a set value.
Choose the product type that matches what you’re selling.
Bilingual names and descriptions
If your store has two languages enabled, fill in both the name and description. The customer sees the content in the language they’re browsing in; the field in the primary language is required.
Ticket validity
The Entitlement duration field sets how long the ticket stays valid. Set it to match the event date so the ticket doesn’t expire before the event starts.
Redeeming at the door
You redeem a ticket the same way as a voucher — in the Redeem module, by scanning its QR code (or entering the code manually). Before admitting a guest, check that the ticket is valid and hasn’t already been used. See Redeeming vouchers.
