Monetary vouchers

How to create monetary vouchers, set value and price, define validity, and manage products in your store.

A Monetary voucher is a coupon with a set value that a customer buys on the storefront and redeems later at your location. It’s one of the two product types in Retiva — the other being an Event ticket.

Creating a monetary voucher

  1. Go to Products and click New product (products belong to a store).
  2. In the Type field, choose Monetary voucher.
  3. Fill in the name and description — in each of the store’s enabled languages (EN/PL).
  4. Set Value and Price (see below).
  5. Set the validity (Entitlement duration) and Sort order.
  6. Save — the product appears in the list with the status Active.

“Value” vs “Price”

These are two different fields, and it’s worth understanding the difference:

This lets you sell a voucher at a discount or at a premium. Example from the demo: a voucher with a value of 50 PLN sold for 40 PLN — the customer pays less than the face value, which makes an attractive promotion.

Validity (Entitlement duration)

The Entitlement duration field sets how long the voucher stays valid from the moment of purchase. Once that time passes, the voucher expires and can’t be redeemed in Redeem. Set a period that matches your policy and any regulations on gift vouchers.

Bilingual names and descriptions

If your store has two languages enabled (PL and EN), fill in both the name and description. The customer sees the content in the language they’re browsing the storefront in. The field in the store’s primary language is required.

Sort order

Sort order controls the order of products on the storefront — a lower value appears higher. Use it to surface your most popular denominations.

Editing, deactivating and deleting

On the Products list, each product has Edit and Delete actions. Rather than deleting a product (which removes it from your offer), consider deactivating it — that preserves history and related vouchers. Only delete products that were never sold or are no longer needed.
